The youth Group organized a trip to Boston, MA from August 28th – 31st where they shared in a variety of fun activities and spiritual meditations. The group enjoyed peaceful accommodations at Virgin Mary Spiritual Vineyard where they were able to celebrate a Divine Liturgy, have quiet time, and engage in spiritual meetings and meditations. The theme of the trip was “Exploring the Difficult Sayings of Jesus” where they discusses verses such as “My Father is Greater than I”, “God, God, why have you forsaken me?”, and “I didn’t come to bring peace but sword”. There were also small discussion groups which focused on Depression, Relationships, Modern Gender Preferences, and Political Correctness. Fr. Pishoy also gave an introduction about the theological topics of Christology and Soteriology. The goal of discussing these topics was to ensure that our youth are confident in their Orthodox faith and doctrine and are able to defend it whenever asked. The group spent a fun day in downtown Boston where they took a 4 hour whale watching excursion in the Atlantic Ocean, visited the aquarium, toured Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and shared in a waterfront dinner. Overall, this was an amazing trip where the youth made new friends, grew spiritually, and had lots of fun. We look forward for more youth activities in the future.
