A group of youth and counsellors volunteered in the weekly Saturday Lunch at St. John the Compassionate Orthodox Mission in downtown Toronto. Volunteers helped with setting up and cleaning the dining area, helped prepare and serve the meal and were able to briefly experience the community and life of service within the church. The volunteers were also able to sit with the community members during the lunch time as well as with the servants of the mission following clean up. This service was followed by heading over to Nathan Phillips Square where the volunteers met a small group from St. Moses and St. Katherine Church ready to serve in a sandwich run. The service was filled with much prayer as well as awareness of the homeless. Overall, it was a memorable day for the youth as well as for the counsellors.
