Our congregation was blessed by the pastoral visit of H.G. Bishop Serapion, bishop of Los Angeles, Hawaii, and affiliated regions from May 13 – 15, 2011. His grace started his visit by addressing the youth on Friday evening and challenged them to be a “Thermostat, not a Thermometer”. On Saturday morning, Sayedna celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Moses & St. Katherine Downtown Mission Church and spent some time in fellowship with the congregation. In the evening, a servants meeting was held at St. Luke’s Church where his grace spoke about “Stewardship”. Sunday morning was another joyful day where his grace celebrated the Divine Liturgy and ordained twelve deacons to the rank of psalters. Overall, it was a spiritually uplifting weekend filled with inspirations, sermons, discussions, prayers, and praises. We thank our beloved father H.G. Bishop Serapion for giving us an entire weekend to enrich and inspire us and we look forward for other pastoral visits by our beloved father.
