2015-Feb-28The church held its semi-annual Servants Spiritual Day on February 28, 2015 entitled Discipleship and Leadership. The day began with a time of prayer and praise which was followed by a spiritual meditation by Fr. Pishoy on the vision of Discipleship in the Church confirming that believers in the early Church were all disciples. The servants then shared in group discussions focusing on the biblical and patristic foundations on the meaning of being a disciple of Jesus Christ and building a strong spiritual life. Everyone then shared in an agape meal and fellowship. In the afternoon, the second session was led by Susanne Lyle who is a professional leadership trainer. She spoke about Servant Leadership and demonstrated practically how everyone can use their God given gifts to lead others with the model of Christ as a servant. The day concluded with a general discussion on the necessity for all leaders to live as disciples and also to disciple others in the love of God. We thank the Lord for a spiritually enriching day and we look forward for more training session in the future.
