Optimized-DSC01868.JPGFrom August 1 to 20, the church ventured out with a group of 28 to Kenya, Africa on a powerful missionary trip, wearing the the words of St. Paul, “Lord, what do You want me to do” (Acts 9:6)? Much of the time was spent in and around the rural town of Maseno, in the Kisumu District, about 400 km northwest of Nairobi, and 90 km east of the country of Uganda. Daily, the team was led by prayer and studying the Word, as it split into groups to preach in local markets, donate clothing, build homes, host spiritual retreats, make cold-call visits and lead fellowship meetings, sharing the Word of God. The team also preached to male and female prison inmates, including those on death row. After a night’s break in the bush of Masai Mara for an African Safari, the trip ended in Nairobi– not only with Bible sharing and ministry to some of the poorest and toughest areas of the city, but also with praying, playing and preaching at the RaHa Kids children’s orphanage. All in all, by God’s grace, nearly 40 people believed and were baptized by clergy during the trip, while our missionaries grew closer in love and witnessed many powerful miracles. We praise and thank our Lord Jesus Christ who protected the group throughout its service, enabling it to plant seeds and bear good fruit using its God-given talents.
