Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced the establishment of the Office of Religious Freedom on Tuesday, February 19th at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Centre in Vaughan, Ontario. This office will be dedicated to promoting freedom of religion or belief around the world. Fr. Pishoy was invited to attend this announcement along with several fathers from the Coptic Church. The Prime Minister’s speech acknowledged the awareness of the Canadian government concerning the situation of Coptic Christians in Egypt. We thank our Government and our Prime Minister for this initiative and we pray for the success of the new office and its ambassador.
