COUNSELLING SERVICES
Counselling, based on the grace of God, provides a professional relationship between a professional counsellor and counselee to overcome life challenges in any form: personal, marital, social or psychological. Counselling is not preaching or advising of what to do or not to do; it is a team effort to explore the grass-root issues, relevant causes, and optimal ways to overcome them. Success of counselling depends, not only on the counsellor’s personality and skills, but also on the counselee’s willingness to understand issues and change unhealthy behavior.

Counsellors meet with individuals, couples, and families to discuss personal, marital, family, social and psychological issues. They listen to issues, analyze situations holistically and devise a treatment plan for optimal resolution. This team effort aims at securing the counselee’s commitment to work on a treatment plan and assessing progress going forward.
Counsellors are independent practitioners and they provide their professional services at SMSV. Counsellors are either volunteers or paid practitioners. All counsellors adhere to the professional code of ethics and confidentiality.
The Counselling office at SMSV is located at the lower level near the entrance of the underground parking. During the current pandemic, counselors conduct all counseling sessions virtually on different online platforms.
If you would like counselling help, please send us an email at [email protected] to schedule an appointment or you may contact counselors directly.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

DEACONNESS PHOEBE
Women were indeed called to serve in the early church, as is seen in the example of Deaconess Phoebe (Romans 16:1), Tabitha (Acts 9:36), and many others. Hand made work alternating with praying was recommended to St. Anthony to stay focused. In Deaconess Phoebe sewing ministry we follow the footsteps of a virtuous wife, she willingly works with her hands (Proverbs 31:13). We offer our sewing skills to help and teach women.
