May 26th will always be remembered as a historical day in the history of St. Moses & St. Katherine Coptic Orthodox Mission Church in downtown Toronto. We were blessed by the presence of H.G. Bishop David who celebrated the Divine Liturgy and then explained the process of choosing a priest to serve the downtown community. His Grace assured the congregation that it is the teaching of the early Church that it is the “right of the congregation members to choose their shepherd”. All members filled out a confidential form to express their opinion which was then reviewed by His Grace. The entire congregation rejoiced that there was a UNANIMOUS decision to nominate Dr. John Boutros to be ordained to serve St. Moses & St. Katherine Church. We thank our Lord for the unity of heart and may the Lord bless this joyful ordination. We thank our beloved father H.G. Bishop David for caring and supporting the mission churches.
