2015-Feb-1The Annual Black History Month Celebration took place on February 1, 2015. Immediately following the Divine Liturgy, several church members shared the accomplishments of some Black heroes especially those responsible for the Civil Rights movement. The praise Team also presented a hymn that celebrated God’s sovereignty despite hardships which was significant during the liberation of slaves. This annual celebration enriched our cultural knowledge and added to our appreciation of the hardships that occurred in history especially to the African American/Canadian community. Following the presentation, the congregation shared in some Jamaican delicacies and food sampling. We are extremely thankful to God for our diversity and unity in Christ.
