COVID-19 Update

Beloved SMSV Family,

We are thankful to God that the church will be reopening starting Monday,
February 22rd, just in time for Jonah’s Fast Liturgies. We have truly missed
seeing everyone and pray that, as we gather again in the sanctuary, we are all
uplifted in the spirit.

Please note the following guidelines for church attendance:

+ Only church members will be allowed to register for services.
Please do not forward the registration links to anyone in your
contacts. We request that everyone commits to attending only one parish to
reduce chances of community transmission and allow space for others in the
services.

+ Alternate registration for the second Sunday Liturgy (no exceptions
please). Otherwise feel free to attend any other services.

+ As you arrive at church, kindly proceed to the Welcome Desk located
just outside the sanctuary where you will confirm your name and affirm no
change in symptoms since registration. Please allow for ample time to be
checked-in and to be seated by our ushers.

+ If family members plan to arrive at different times throughout the
Liturgy, we ask that you notify the ushers so that they can accommodate for
your seating arrangement accordingly.

+ In compliance with York Region Public Health, masks/face coverings are
mandatory within the premises and throughout the Liturgy. Please arrive with a
mask on and note that you will be asked to sanitize your hands upon
arrival.

+ Make sure to proceed directly to your car immediately after the conclusion
of the Liturgy. No gatherings are permitted after the service is finished.

If at any point, you are unable to attend, kindly notify [email protected]. This will provide
opportunities for members on the waiting list to attend.

We appreciate your cooperation as we navigate our way through these
unprecedented times. If you have any special requests, please do not hesitate
to contact us.

We will continue to pray for God’s grace as we all come back together to
celebrate His presence in our midst.

In Christ,

The Registration Team

GOOD NEWS! The Government of Ontario has permitted Churches to reopen effective Friday, June 12th, 2020, provided we implement safety measures. Below, please find detailed guidelines to register your household to celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the church.

The government has permitted attendance up to 30% of the building seating capacity to ensure everyone’s safety and to establish a system with the new guidelines.

We kindly ask that you register your household for only one liturgy per week and avoid registering for Sunday liturgies two weeks in a row, in order to provide an opportunity for all congregation members to partake in the prayer.

Please bring your own water bottle, communion napkins and head coverings. We highly recommend you bring your own masks and gloves.

When parking, please keep one parking spot empty between adjacent cars. Underground and above ground parking will be available to accommodate leaving a space in between cars. Please observe physical distancing at all times and follow all ministry guidelines for COVID-19 protocols.

All individuals entering the church are requested to confirm their registration, answer basic questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms, and will be assigned a seat. We appreciate your cooperation with these arrangements, understanding they are in place for the safety of the entire congregation. Please arrive early to the Liturgy and allow for an extra 10 minutes to finish these procedures.

We kindly ask that you leave immediately following the conclusion of the service in an orderly fashion as instructed by the ushers. There will be no activities or social gatherings in the church following Liturgy.

As you register, you will be requested to confirm that SMSV is your home parish, you have not registered to celebrate Liturgy at any other parish, you understand all the risks of participation, and you don’t have any COVID-19 symptoms.

If you need to cancel, please email [email protected] to do so.

We appreciate your cooperation as we navigate our way through these unprecedented times. If you have any special requests or if these times do not fit your schedule, please do not hesitate to contact us to explore other options.

We will continue to pray for God’s grace as we all come back together to celebrate His presence in our midst.

In Christ,

Fr. Thomas & Fr. Pishoy
