The first ever SMSV Arts Night took place on Friday, January 4, 2019, an event that brought together artists of all kinds for the glory of God and opened the doors of the church to the community. Musicians, singers, poets, writers, and visual artists showcased their creative work, expressing the artistry of our Creator, their worship to Him, and the important role of the arts in Christianity and in society. The SMSV Arts Night featured an art gallery (including Coptic iconography, paintings, drawings, graphic art, and photography), as well as a live show of spoken word poetry, literary readings, and musical performances (with vocals, piano, guitar, violin, drums, and harp). Thank God, all performers and audience members joined together in praise of the Lord and to minister the gifts received from God to one another (1 Peter 4:10). The SMSV Arts Night ministry prays to continue this service, to encourage more artists to keep creating for God’s purpose and mission, and to inspire audiences, through the arts, to connect with God.
