We give thanks and glory to our Lord for this milestone in the progress of our building project. The church received the final building permit from the Town of Markham on Thursday, June 14th after almost three years of communications, preparations, and submissions. This process included meetings with staff, presentation of a schematic design, meetings with the mayor, rezoning, project design (architectural, mechanical, electrical, landscape, day care, traffic, soil, Region of York, and civil), presentations before council and Markham Centre Committee, site plan approval, engineering, and legal. Everyone felt God’s hand leading this entire process which yielded amazing blessings and success. Our next task, Lord willing, is to award the project to a General Contractor and to finalize negotiations with the bank regarding the financing. Let us all pray together that the Lord would facilitate these upcoming steps and to begin construction in the fullness of time.
