The Feast of St. Verena comes to us every year to remind us of her virtues and the Core Values of our church. St. Verena lived a life of service in her community in a foreign land where she had emigrated. Switzerland became her new adopted country and she spent every day ministering to people and caring for their sicknesses. She taught us that no one should stand alone and that we should feel at home in our new adopted country, Canada. The church held a vespers raising of incense as well as spicing of her relics on September 13, 2018 and celebrated the Divine Liturgy on September 14. May her prayers continue to guide our journey and her model guide our ministry.
