2017 Board Nominations – Sandra Mikhail

Mrs. Sandra Mikhail

Biography:

I am married with 3 young children and have been a member of SMSV for approximately 6 years.  My educational background is in Public Relations and I work on the Marketing Communications team at Bell Mobility.  My husband and I have been small group participants for the past 4 years and hosts for the past two. We also actively participate in ministry activities for married couples, young families, and emceed SMSV’s 2015 Thanksgiving outreach night. I also am involved in the Women’s ministry.

Vision Statement:

1. How will you contribute to the mission and vision of SMSV by your service on the Church Board?

As a first generation Canadian, I have longed to be a part of a Coptic Orthodox church that is welcoming to all, regardless of race or ethnicity. It is this welcoming, loving and accepting environment that I believe is the future of the Coptic Orthodox church and that I have chosen to raise my 3 young children in. I am a highly motivated, organized, outgoing and sociable person and I pray that God uses my various skills and talents to help this church get to the next level.

2. What new ideas/suggestions would you like to introduce to the Church Board?

I hope to aid in the development of new programs, services and ministries that will support newlyweds, young families and adolescents who are the future of this great Church. I would like to help further develop community outreach and to see this church turn into a social hub/centre for the community as a whole. I’d also like to work on developing a program whereby our youth can help the elderly and widows of our congregation to ensure that they are well supported and provide them with companionship in their golden years.
