2017 Board Nominations – Sandra Benyamin

Ms. Sandra Benyamin

Biography:

I was born in Egypt on July 29, 1988 and immigrated to Canada with my parents and two brothers in the summer of 1995. I received my Bachelor of Sciences in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Albany College of Pharmacy and my Juris Doctor from University at Buffalo Law School. I currently work as a student lawyer and I am in the process of completing my license to practice as a lawyer. My involvement at SMSV includes serving within Youth Group as a servant for the Grade 9-10 class, and Sunday School as a servant for the JK/SK class. I have also been serving on the Church Board for almost 2 years. I also currently serve on the Children’s Activities Ministry, Office Ministry, the Little Miracles Childcare hiring committee, the WWL Praise Team, and the Girls 4 God Ministry.

Vision Statement:

1. How will you contribute to the mission and vision of SMSV by your service on the Church Board?

SMSV is my home and this congregation are my family members, so I would serve wholeheartedly with that always in mind, to ensure that everyone is equally loved and welcomed as they are.

I will maintain strong relationships with the members of our congregation and our community, constantly seeking their opinions, to ensure the decisions made by the Church Board are in the best interests of our entire congregation. I will use what I’ve learned from the wonderful members of our current Church Board to provide continuity.

I will keep in mind the youth and children, who are the future of our Church.

I will utilize my research skills to ensure all the decisions of the Church Board are mindful of our surrounding Markham community and our Canadian culture.

2. What new ideas/suggestions would you like to introduce to the Church Board?

I believe the Church Board should gather in unity to pray together regularly and to encourage one another.

I would also like to introduce planning social gatherings for the Church Board members and their families to foster an environment of friendship and fellowship.
