Vision Statement:

1. How will you contribute to the mission and vision of SMSV by your service on the Church Board?

As a long standing member of the church and as a leader and contributor to various ministries, I was present since its inception and have seen what the original mission was meant to be. As a result, the following is what I will be contributing if chosen as an SMSV board member:

  • Over 15 years of leadership & people management experience (including cross functional and multicultural teams)
  • Over 10 years of critical analysis and risk management experience
  • Over 8 years of strategic planning and project management
  • Over 5 years of a multi-million dollar budget and expense management
  • Open minded, accepting of change and constantly sympathetic to others’ views.

As an SMSV Board Member I would continue to seek God’s direction and growth in biblical knowledge, be an example of what Christ called us to be and continue leading my current ministry. I feel very strongly about the mission of SMSV as a ministry of love, integration, and outreach within the Coptic Orthodox faith and doctrine. Most of all this church with its diverse members of the body of Christ offers me hope for a bright future to unify and foster diversity in glorifying God’s name.

2. What new ideas/suggestions would you like to introduce to the Church Board?

  • Development of strategic plans that clearly outline annual church goals and ensure quarterly check-ins in order to successfully reach them annually.
  • Missionary Ministries in the community: Develop church policies to initiate missions within the GTA that reaches out to troubled youth, prisons, pregnancy crisis centres, mentorship programs, and other similar organizations.
  • Members Engagement: Utilize anonymous online quarterly surveys; follow up with members who no longer attend. Board members to reach out to parishioners who stopped coming to seek them out and seek areas where growth and opportunity are required.
  • Introduce more community outreach programs within the church.
  • Expense management at donation level: Give the congregation a choice on how they want their donations allocated (example: building, mission programs, food, youth programs and others).
